Greetings Templeton Fish and Game Members, Guests, and Community Members!
Some dog days of summer are teasing us this week, but we all know it won't last! Our Chicken BBQ for this weekend is SOLD OUT, THANK YOU! Miss out on tickets for the meal? No problem, you can still come down and enjoy the live music starting at 2:00 by the Williams Brothers Band. The Queen of Hearts is also still alive, and the jackpot is now $7,643 at The Templeton Fish & Game Club. The Queen is drawn every Friday night at 7:00 sharp! Our very popular Summer Music Series will begin on Sunday, June 21st, at the Lower Pavilion, Pond View Pub, from 2:00 - 5:00. See the full lineup release below! .22 Shoots will begin TOMORROW, Thursday, May 21st at 6:00 at the Range, see more details below! This Thursday will be the FINAL line dancing session of the season before they take a break for the summer!
EVENT RENTALS: If you are thinking about summer or hosting an event at the Club, check out our facilities/rentals page for all the details - you can reach out to Diane McDonald for club availability. Dates are already being booked, and Mama Loves Catering is ready to meet all of your catering needs.
UPDATED IMPORTANT NOTICES TO ALL MEMBERS MEMBERS MEETING - Our next members' meeting will be held on Monday, May 25th (Yes, Memorial Day), starting at 6:30. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Templeton Fish & Game Club should submit their application to our membership secretary. Members are sworn in monthly at our meetings! All new members must be sponsored by a current member of the Club! You can find membership details and the application on the membership page of our website!
Wayne Arsenault has stepped down from his position on the Board - Greg Howellett will fill in for Wayne till our next election. Greg comes with a great deal of background in construction and other topics - come meet him at our next meeting Monday! Thank you to Wayne for his time on the board.
Nominations for the Board of Directors will be taken next month - there are three positions available. Reach out to Chairman Paul Cormier for more information.
SEPTIC ALARMS and PUMP OUT: As you return to camp if you are an owner, it is essential that your electricity is turned on and your septic alarm is working with a functioning lightbulb - last year we ended the season with only 2 failures out of 105 alarms - let's get that number to 100% this season! It is critical that our alarms are operating correctly for DEP and Conservation. Lawrence Septic earned the pump out bid this year - the cost will be $.22/gallon. Camp owners can call anytime (978-632-9470) to be pumped out for the contracted rate and will also include the required inspection. If your camp does not need a pump out now, pump outs and tank inspections will be conducted in June. If you have any questions, please reach out to our DEP Liasion, Eric Adamson.
The next Lot Committee meeting will be held on Monday, June 8th starting at 6:00 - any work being done on your camp required a permit approved by the lot committee - forms can be found on the website. Please remember it is mud season, so be mindful when driving on any club roads, as they may be soft. Please do NOT drive up on the hill near the club either, so we keep our property in good shape heading into the warmer days. Camp owners, please remember that any work done on your lots must be approved by the lot committee in advance.
Camp owners who are selling their camps, please see the special notice posted on the Membership page of our website. Camps for sale are posted in the clubhouse and also on the Camps for Sale page of our website! After posting the camp for sale at the Club, you can add a listing and photos to our "Camps for Sale" page on our website - please contact Lynn Sayarath at bostonterrier97@comcast.net to add your camp details!
CONTACT UPDATE: Do you need to update your mailing address, email, or phone with the club? Please use our contact update form located on our website! You can find the form on our Member Forms page.
If you know someone not getting these Weekly Happenings, they can sign up to receive them by visiting the "Weekly Happenings Sign-Up" page on our website! AMERICA 250 The Templeton Cultural Council is bringing back the annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, July 4th on the Templeton Common. Thirteen townspeople and officials will take turns reading a portion of this historic document. 13 representing the 13 original colonies.
Set on one of the most historic spots in our small hilltown -- where town militia trained, the festivities will include music, a colonial re-enactor, a genealogist from the Daughters of the American Revolution, a raffle, and a parade of decorated doll carriages, bicycles and senior walkers.
The First Church of Templeton will host an ice cream social on the common. The Narragansett Historical Society will be open. Bring your lunch and enjoy an old-fashioned picnic on the common! All are welcome. |

GRASS MOWING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED |
The grass is starting to peek through around the lake, which means it’s that time of year to call on our members for help with mowing the property. Many hands make light work!
Volunteer sign-ups are now available in the clubhouse. This effort helps the club save a significant amount of money, and you’re welcome to volunteer once, twice, or as often as you can.
We truly appreciate all the help and support! |
