Well, summer is not officially over yet, but Labor Day often signifies the end of Summer activity for many. The holiday pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is observed each year on the first Monday of September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. We hope everyone around the ponds enjoys a little extra summer this weekend with family and friends! 

 Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed our 2nd Annual Pond Party this past Saturday. Special thanks to Dj Gabriel Martin, who played some great music to enjoy - we had about 10 boats join us for a fun evening on the pond.  

The Queen of Hearts continues this Friday night and is drawn at 7:00 sharp! Come down and enjoy a cold one and take a chance to find her! This coming Saturday, we have Gold Rush performing on the outdoor stage starting at 6:00 - bring a lounge chair and blanket and enjoy! Mama Loves Catering will be serving up burgers and dogs - food sales will begin at 5:00!  All festivities will move inside if the weather does not cooperate.  Come out and enjoy one of our final outdoor musical events of the year! The fun does not stop there this weekend - This coming Sunday we have our second to last Summer Music Series event at the Pond View Pub featuring Scott Alan Savoy from 2:00 - 5:00! Come down and enjoy a cold one with some great music and friends!

Something WICKED is coming to the water at Templeton Fish & Game Club. Check out the details below for our FIRST Witches on the Water Paddle coming on September 13th during our final Summer Music Series event! Registration is now OPEN for what is sure to be a witchy good time!

Anyone interested in playing American Mahjong on Thursday nights is welcome to join in on the fun from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Clubhouse. New players are always welcome, and we will teach you how to play! You can learn more about the game by clicking here! Our Annual Fishing Derby wraps up this weekend so be sure to record your catches on the sheet inside the club - you could win a prize! Prizes for Adult and Child with the largest catch of the year will be awarded.

Dam Maintenance – Volunteers Needed

We are looking for several volunteers to help with brush cutting at the Dam on Sunday, September 13th, beginning at 9:00 AM. This is an important seasonal maintenance project that helps ensure our earth dam remains healthy and properly maintained. Please reach out to Norm Cormier if you are able to help or have any questions. Many hands make light work!

.22 Shoot - Our .22 Shoot has wrapped up for the season. A big thank you to Paul Johnson for organizing and overseeing the program this year!

9/11 Stair Climb - Club member George Bowren will once again participate in the annual 9/11 Stair Climb in full firefighter gear. The Club is proud to sponsor George's efforts, with proceeds benefiting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Thank you, George, for continuing this meaningful tradition and honoring our fallen firefighters each year.

Hogan Road Improvements - We will be securing bids to explore having Hogan Road properly graded in an effort to address the ongoing issues that occur during heavy rain. We greatly appreciate Ricky for his continued work mending and patching the road as problems arise. Club member Doug Boccia will seek out bids for a more effective, long-term solution and will report back to the membership next month.

Beach Water Testing – Another Great Season - Our summer beach water testing is officially complete. We conducted 16 water tests this season, and all came back with great results! Thank you to everyone who helps us protect our water quality by keeping pets and vehicles off the beach area. Both can negatively impact the quality of our beach and pond water. A special thank you to Chairman Paul Cormier, who made the weekly trek to have our water tested throughout the summer. Each round trip takes approximately two hours, so this is a significant commitment that helps keep our members and families safe.

And with summer winding down, our swans have officially been put away for the season!

Pop-Up Meals - Our pop-up meals this summer have been excellent—and very popular! If any member is interested in hosting or preparing a pop-up meal at the Club, please contact Paul Cormier. We would love to keep these going!

Town of Templeton Override Vote - Property owners should be aware that the Town of Templeton has a Proposition 2½ override vote scheduled for later this month. If the override passes, property owners should anticipate an increase in their annual property taxes. The proposed override is intended to address a town budget shortfall affecting essential services, including police, fire, EMS, and DPW services. We encourage members who are Templeton residents and property owners to stay informed about the upcoming vote.

Fall Cleanup Coming Soon - Finally, our annual Fall Cleanup will be here before we know it! Ricky will share the date as soon as it is finalized. Club members are encouraged to come out and lend a hand as we prepare the property for the colder months.

MEMBERS MEETING - Our next members' meeting will be held on Monday, September 28th, starting at 6:30. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Templeton Fish & Game Club should submit their application to our membership secretary. Members are sworn in monthly at our meetings! All new members must be sponsored by a current member of the Club! You can find membership details and the application on the membership page of our website! The next Lot Comittee meeting is this coming Monday, September 14th starting at 6:00 PM in the Clubhouse - any lot related issues should be addressed at this time.
